Sentry Safe - Defective Design, Breach of Warranty, Breach of Implied Warranty
I purchased this safe from Office Max in Chicago, Illinois on June 10, 2012. The handle for the safe malfunctioned. I had to have a safe locksmith drill open the safe, which took 1.75 hours and cost $340. I also lost 1.75 of billable hours at $500 hourly. Further, $7000 cash that I would have put in the safe is missing.
The legal causes of action claims I will bring against Sentry (unless settled without resort to litigation), will be, among others claims, breach of contract, breach of warranty, breach of implied warranties, consumer fraud and defective design. At the time of consumer purchase, this safe is, among other things defective (design and use).
